Event details

Join Us for an Evening of Celebration, Inspiration, and Thanks

We are excited to invite you to our Evening of Thanks and Annual General Meeting on Thursday 17th October at the Dorothy Fleming Lecture Theatre, Sheffield Hallam University, Charles Street Building, from 6.30pm – 9pm.

This evening is a special opportunity to reflect on all the incredible achievements we’ve made together for nature and wildlife. It’s our chance to say a heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support.

What to Expect:

Annual update: Liz Ballard, our Chief Executive, will share the latest on the Trust’s work and progress over the past year.

Talk 1: Ughill Farm – one year on: Following an overwhelming response to our fundraising appeal launched last year, the Trust took full ownership of Ughill Farm in December 2023. We’d like to share the work that’s been done since then, including the richness of wildlife that has been recorded on the site, and our plans for the coming months.

Talk 2: Working with diverse communities: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Zahira Naz, joined the Trust in Autumn 2023. Zahira has been working with a diverse range of communities across the city to understand how they connect with nature and the barriers they face. So far, she has worked with almost 2,000 adults across the city, supporting them to access nature reserves and local green spaces.

Wildlife Photography Exhibition: Enjoy the stunning shortlisted entries from our wildlife photography competition. The winning photos will be featured in our Calendar 2025, which will be available to purchase on the evening at a price of £10 each.

Chat to us: Meet our dedicated staff, find out about updates on our nature reserves, community projects, and hear about the highlights from our volunteering teams.

Your Voice Matters

As a Trust member, this is your opportunity to have a say in how our charity is run at the AGM section of the evening. Your feedback and involvement are crucial to our continued success (please note that the AGM portion of the meeting is open to Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust members only).

Free to Attend – Your Support Makes a Difference

This event is free, but as a charity, every bit of support helps us protect wildlife and nature. Your contributions, big or small, truly make a difference.

Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust Calendar 2025

Don’t miss out on our stunning Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust Calendar for 2025! Featuring the winning photographs from our wildlife photography competition, this beautiful calendar is a perfect way to celebrate nature all year round.

We look forward to celebrating with you and continuing our journey to protect and enhance the natural world. See you there!
