Volunteer/wellbeing session: Victoria Hall wildlife garden

Event details

Volunteer session – come along from 10-1, or join us for an hour or so!

These sessions are suitable for all levels of confidence and are a great opportunity to see some beautiful nature reserves, get some fresh air and exercise, and meet new people. No previous experience or expertise is required, and you can join as many/few as you like.We will start with a sensory walk of the garden, then will be trimming vegetation and carrying out other tasks, such as sweeping, across the site.

We will have 2 breaks for tea and lunch (but if you need to take extra breaks just ask!).

Please bring drinking water, lunch and outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing, trousers and long sleeves and sturdy footwear, and bring some lunch and drinking water if you’re able to join us for the whole day.

I will provide gloves, safety glasses, and tools and train you in safe use. I can provide waterproof jackets, trousers and suitable footwear but please let me know if you need these beforehand.

I can provide up to £10 reimbursement for lunch and public transport per person per session if provided with receipts. I can also offer car lifts to the sites, if asked in advance.

There are benches and toilets on site, including a wheelchair accessible toilet. The site is close to pavements, shops and a very short walk from where I will park the vehicle. This site has a wheelchair accessible path on a gentle slope. Please ask me for more details.

If you need any more information or are running late, you can contact me on m.thimm@wildsheffield.com or 07517054447. I am happy to support you with any additional support needs – please feel free to contact me regarding this.
