Hello! I’m halfway through putting together a fun live project taking influences from house, garage, grime, ska, broken beat, afrobeat, funk and disco… We want to make soulful electronic dance music with a grimey edge and a sense of humour straight out of the UK... somewhere between Basement Jaxx, Bugz In The Attic, Groove Armada, Parliament, Kool & The Gang, Madness and Ian Dury and The Blockheads, for the 21st century. Or something like that. We have most of a basic lineup already, including a couple of other vocalists, but would really like to balance things out with a female singer to sing some of the lead vocals. Lots of experience is not important, but we'd like someone who has a bit of soul, could maybe build on some of the parts we've written, and wouldn't be afraid to have a laugh on stage. Kind of a mixture between Basement Jaxx, Bugz In The Attic, Groove Armada, Parliament, Madness and Ian Dury and The Blockheads, for the 21st century. Or something like that. I've got most of the people I need, including a couple of male vocalists, but I am looking for a decent female singer to balance things out!
