  1. Hi peeps, I always like to post on my fave forum to let you know about my new releases: So here's my latest EP The Colonel - Stupidest EP Bump Machine Bass BMPB001 It's out on all the major platforms (plus some I've never heard of), and beatport describes it as "four banging, quirky slabs of bass pressure...A journey through grime, bassline and styles with no name... to mash any dancefloor". Nice eh? Have a squizz on: Soundcloud or Cheers for your support as always!
  2. Hello all you nice forummers... Just wanted to hop on here and give my new EP a cheeky plug… Anyone who’s listened to a Colonel EP before knows the drill… funk-fuelled drums, warping bass, and a joyous landscape of synths, strings, trumpets and bagpipes (ok I lied about that bit), mashed-up and stomped into some dancefloor mayhem. THE COLONEL BUBBLIN’ EP In:Flux Audio INEXCL001 But instead of me blowing my own bagpipes, here’s what the label, In:Flux Audio says: “The Colonel returns for his second EP on In:flux, and helps us kick start our new Bandcamp exclusive series with a bang! Following on from his brass section inspired wobbler the 'Confused Face EP', The Colonel is on fine form here expanding on that theme, and bringing several more layers of groove to the proceedings. Get you dancing shoes at the ready!” So there you have it. Use the clicky linkage provided to preview on soundcloud or buy from bandcamp. Maximum biggups! The Colonel
  3. Hello, Just thought I would let you lovely forummers know about this new EP I have out on In:Flux Audio. Click below to listen... THE COLONEL Confused Face EP [iNFLUX 008] I could waffle about it myself, but much better to tell you what the label said: "INFLUX 008 is from The Colonel, and we have a treat in store for you here!!!The Colonel has had releases on Project All Out, Tipping Point, Tru Thoughts and a recent release on Basic Soundz that got the attention of the folks over at iloveukg.com and radio plays from Toddla T on Radio 1 and 1xtra. He also has a big presence in the Sheffield scene and this is how In:flux and The Colonel reached this point. Recommended to us by Dr. Cryptic, The Colonel has a very unique style and sound, and when he sent us the demo of his EP early in 2015 we signed it up immediately. Forward thinking and original, the 'Confused Face EP' is a joyous mesh of trumpets and basslines made for the dance floor, with amazing sampling to boot. The EP is sure to be a soundtrack for the Summer!" So there you have it. Enjoy, and big ups for the support. One love, The Colonel
  4. Hello! I’m halfway through putting together a fun live project taking influences from house, garage, grime, ska, broken beat, afrobeat, funk and disco… We want to make soulful electronic dance music with a grimey edge and a sense of humour straight out of the UK... somewhere between Basement Jaxx, Bugz In The Attic, Groove Armada, Parliament, Kool & The Gang, Madness and Ian Dury and The Blockheads, for the 21st century. Or something like that. We have most of a basic lineup already, including a couple of other vocalists, but would really like to balance things out with a female singer to sing some of the lead vocals. Lots of experience is not important, but we'd like someone who has a bit of soul, could maybe build on some of the parts we've written, and wouldn't be afraid to have a laugh on stage. Please pm me or email thecoloneluk@gmail.com if you're interested. Nice!
  5. Wotcha, all you lovely forummers! Just wanted to let you know about my new EP which is out now, and is three tracks of bumpin, bassy UK Garage. The Colonel Will You Remember EP Released on 30th March 2015 by Basic Soundz Ltd. The title track features Sheffield soul vocalist Mr. Bailey, and another track "And Then", has already had support from Toddla T on Radio1/1Xtra. Why not have a squizz here? Oh, and also, the label is giving away a track of mine as a free download, which you can grab here Thanks in advance if you decide to listen and/or buy Big ups The Colonel
  6. Hello! I’m halfway through putting together a fun live project taking influences from house, garage, grime, ska, broken beat, afrobeat, funk and disco… A soulful electronic party band with a good dose of funk, stage presence and British humour and style. Kind of a mixture between Basement Jaxx, Bugz In The Attic, Groove Armada, Parliament, Madness and Ian Dury and The Blockheads, for the 21st century. Or something like that. I've got most of the people I need, including a couple of male vocalists, but I am looking for a decent female singer to balance things out! Lots of experience is not essential, but a bit of soul and a willingness to get up on stage and have a laugh certainly is! Please pm me or email thecoloneluk@gmail.com if you're interested! Nice one
  7. Hello there! My friend and I run a weekly radio show on Sheffield Live called The Bassment Radio Show, which plays House, UK Garage, Hip-hop, RnB, Soul, Funk and Reggae We're looking for local talent in any of the above musical genres to invite onto the show to showcase their music and maybe be interviewed or perform live or whatever works best Our show will also be going out on Sheffield Live TV from this week. If you're interested, please either DM me or email thecoloneluk@gmail.com. Thanks! PLEASE NOTE: Because of the show we do and the audience we have, we won't be able to consider any music that isn't one of the genres mentioned above, sorry!
