  1. Use a mobile phone to ring your service provider (not Openreach), if you dont have one find someone who does, and maybe consider having one for emergencies in future. Your service provider may offer web chat, you havent told us who it is.
  2. Gone https://news.sky.com/story/legendary-crooner-tony-bennett-dies-at-the-age-of-96-12924922
  3. No might about it, that was 100% the reason, only a few regions managed to cobble together programmes yesterday. Even though they are striking because of the radio cuts, TV staff are also walking out in solidarity, some will also work on both anyway.
  4. Yes, it was on after both of those. Just click that link and watch it.
  5. Bassetlaw was won in 2019 with a 18.4% swing, not a million miles from Selby last night.
  6. You know the iPlayer exists surely, go watch it there. Was on ten minutes past midnight on BBC4 last night. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04w7wn5/an-evening-with-sammy-davis-jr
  7. Central Bus Station, maybe? Not that I would ever call it that, maybe its a generational thing.
  8. Surprised you go in a supermarket at all tbf, there are cameras all over the place in there. Maybe get your shopping delivered, be on the safe side.
  9. Sure I read somewhere that the cameras at the self service tills aren't actually connected to anything, it's just a psychological device. Will have to find it.
  10. To be fair most people just don't want confrontation.
  11. Getting rid of the 1s and 2s seems a logical step however I imagine it would impact charity donations a fair bit so they won't be in a rush to do it.
  12. Having paper notes worth so little is silly imo. Paper should be reserved for significant amounts. Remember a pound now isn't worth as much as a pound in the early eighties or whenever the notes were withdrawn.
  13. I hate bread that isnt bought same day tbf. And I cant be arsed baking my own.
  14. With inflation that would just be silly now. The United States have a banknote which is worth around 78p at todays rates, I find that just ridiculous but they would probably riot if they withdrew it.
  15. Only been in each once since they installed them, they had both tills and the self serve tills open in both branches. To be fair its a nightmare in Aldi usually if you only want one or two items so I am happy to see them put in there.
  16. No, I didnt say "change a word". You have still missed one out. Have another go.
  17. Aldi Handsworth now have some self service tills (as of this time last week). The ones in town have had them for longer iirc.
  18. Dont shoot the messenger, no issue with the bikes here.
  19. No no no the midweek cycle event is a shambles, apparently. Despite it being in its 9th year.
  20. Its already been explained it probably wouldnt, see Canada and the Czech Republic. Card transactions would still cost (as an example) £4.99, its only cash where it would be rounded up to the nearest multiple of 5p (or whetever the smallest coin in circulation is)
