  1. The answer is in post 244 but unless you have a smart meter its a non starter.
  2. Yes, I agree The Star is full of awful news. I assume you meant to post a link to the actual story, though - https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/crime/crookes-murder-investigation-two-arrested-after-death-of-sheffield-teenager-amid-stabbing-rumours-4158729
  3. How do you know it wasn't a domestic that spilled out onto the street? Nobody knows the circumstances so best not to jump to conclusions eh?
  4. How did this person book the flight in the first place? Did she send her cash to Ryanair in the post?
  5. Also it's hardly the staffs fault either. Moaning at them would achieve nothing. Pretty sure Ryanair mention in emails before flights that all their flights are now card only too, they were in 2019 when I used them so it's hardly a recent thing
  6. Thats not a bad idea at the end there. Does he know someone in his family who could help him out? Dunno, maybe a 10 year old who does advanced algebra?
  7. I mean, you picked the worst example on purpose there, given many companies don't take Amex for this very reason. Anyway, back to the 2.5k per 700k cash handling charge you seemingly glossed over...
  8. Buses are also slowed down for old biddies and the rest of the lovely general public fumbling around for change or their pass. Next?
  9. Unnecessary mention of Covid yet again, there. Who hurt you? Point on the doll where they touched you.
  10. It's on the 2nd page, of 2, of the document they tell you to read before even applying. In a neat little table. Banks aren't going to list the minuatae of every single charge they can levy in what is in essence a sales pitch on a website. A simple Yes or No will suffice: did you read the document before applying? And just admit you have now cocked up on multiple occasions. A business owner, ladies and gentlemen.
  11. The FB group now resorting to spreading lies, claiming that the Peddler Market is MOVING to Chesterfield this summer https://www.facebook.com/groups/1801903783494447/permalink/2042014139483409/ Erm, no it isn't lads 😅 it's a 2nd site.
  12. Absolute rubbish. Banks charge per £x for cash handling.
  13. Literally nobody sensible is saying "bin cash off completely". The only people who think this is going to happen are nutjobs, the same nutjobs who talk about the New World Order, the Jewish lizards, chemtrails, and 15 minute cities. Oh, and if you agree with her last three words you must have had a bang on the head 😄
  14. This has nothing to do with buses. Like I said, go to London and use a bus and see how you get on.
  15. I also saw a few stalls that advertised they could take card so you are talking absolute rot. Also - do you think the bus companies have done no customer research? They went to efforts to eventually find tram ticket machines that could take card, do you really think they would do that if nobody wanted to pay with a card? Go to London and try and pay cash on a bus and see how you get on. Its 2023, not 1973. Get with the times. Anyway this is all a near distraction, the current (perceived) state of buses in Sheffield has absolutely nothing to do with them being able to take card payments. And therefore has nothing to do with this thread.
  16. Well, no they werent, I went into the Sleigh Bar thing on Xmas Eve and used my card. Three times. Leave your tin foil agendas out of this thread, please.
  17. I have mentioned the Octopus Tracker rate a lot on this thread, they recently whacked a 6 month waiting list on it. Looks like the waiting list is about to either vanish or be cut considerably. Worth going onto this but only if you keep an eye on the rates they charge you, its cheap at the moment but that may change.
  18. Dio is a band, not a person. Holy Diver is an album, not a person.
