  1. One was run by a local authority. One is a private venture. You may as well compare chalk and cheese.
  2. People on minimum wage arguably can't afford to run a car anyway...
  3. I would suggest the number of people who drive to a retail park expecting to draw cash out there is next to nil. Please feel free to show us some independent research proving otherwise, though.
  4. People can apply for free voter ID, nobody is being disenfranchised. If people can't be arsed doing that they can't be arsed about voting in the first place. Or, just apply for a postal vote. Aardvark maybe doesn't realise he can do this. No ID required.
  5. Unless you mean its in a storeroom somewhere else. In which case thats up to you, I paid 10p a unit on Sunday. How much did you pay?
  6. Again, thats not the smart meter. Thats the In House Display (IHD) The smart meter will be, erm, your electricity meter.
  7. In the case of the quoted post though, Pippo is correct, given he says the meters are in the garage.
  8. Two Poundlands? Two?!???! God what a treat, surely this puts Hillsborough on a par with The Trafford Centre or one of the American mega malls.
  9. Well yes it's odd they have been mentioned in this thread when it's not about them, but nothing surprises me around here.
  10. What an absolutely bizarre thread. Are people seriously not able to work out why Sheffield United, shipping goals like its going out of fashion, might be getting the P taken out of them a bit more than Burnley? It aint rocket science, folks. **** all to do with who the manager is either.
  11. My electric was 10p a unit on Sunday. Aren't smart meters horrible? 🙄🙄🙄
  12. I note with interest that Jet2 have just announced a two aircraft base at BOURNEMOUTH airport, starting 1st April 2025, flying to 16 destinations including all four major Canary Islands. Cant imagine they would want another new base at DSA next year so thats another potential gone. Like I said, its going to end in tears again.
  13. I rang mine last week at half 8 and had an appointment within 90 minutes. Maybe you need to change doctors.
  14. What would you do if your employer went against your wishes?
  15. Did you routinely ignore No Entry signs back in the "glory days" or is it just now you choose to do this?
  16. Yes. Think you are overreacting a bit tbh, from memory you got a minor for really trivial things. It's hardly get one minor for running a dog over.
  17. It's been like that since at least the late 90s when I did mine. The test was longer than half an hour though, of that I am sure.
  18. Because RollingJ knows that Ecconoob works in the legal sector.
  19. I've never had an issue speaking to anyone at the Halifax on the phone any time of day, how very odd.
  20. And was it for something that absolutely couldn't be done either online or on the phone? That's your issue. I can't think of a single function a branch does that they can't do through other channels, my mortgage provider could have taken the ID a different way I suppose and probably do now. And I can't imagine the rent on High Street is especially cheap either.
