I've nothing against this particular kind of music, each to their own, my debate is whether it should be promoted in a national newspaper, especially one that loves shouting from the rooftops about equality, any kind of sexual violence against women and the latest buzzword misogyny. Yet they have no issue giving airtime to artists that blatantly glorify it. It smacks of hypocrisy and political narrative. On the contrary. Oh I totally believe in free speech. However, the hypocrisy of the guardian is astounding. They promote artists who talk about gang violence, stabbings and sexual violence towards women, yet will have a collective circle jerk of outrage when a white male does it. It's rather alarming that folk are more interested in trying to ridicule the OP rather than be in anyway concerned that a national newspaper is promoting an artist ( not the first time, even this week) that glorifies stabbings and sexual violence. Every other day the guardian promotes a rapper with just awful lyrics. However, it's ok because when it suits their narrative foul words can have double meaning. Clavish’s lyrics can be fraught with misdirection. His writing is raw and direct, yet drenched in double meanings that convert crack rocks to iced-out watches. Sexual intimacy rubs up against intimate violence. “Dripping” can refer to dressing fashionably, or being stabbed. I will have to remember that when they vent their anger at the demographic they dislike. What a pathetic racist newspaper.
