  1. I know, and indeed used to park there myself before they re-did the area a few years ago. I presume you mean HERE The trouble is,that you need either to pass that sign, or ride over the pavement past THIS ONE Yes I would agree that it's a pain, but as far as I can see, your only possible way out of paying the ticket would be to follow my earlier suggestion. (or another similar forum I suppose, but do make sure that you follow informed legitimate advice before you rack up an even bigger bill)
  2. I suspect it isn't an official bike park; if so the ticket will be genuine. All is not lost however as you still have some time to research before you pay. I'd suggest that you scan both sides of the ticket and de-personalise them, by blocking off registration number and ticket serial number etc. Create an account and post the details along with the scans over at Pepipoo, (Clickable Link) where you are likely to get advice from folks who do actually know what they're talking about. A Google Street View link would also be advantageous, provided it shows the current road arrangements, and isn't out of date. All of the above assumes it is a Sheffield cCuncil ticket, and not an SYP one.
  3. Very sorry to hear that; I never had the privilege of meeting him, though I do have a couple of his pocket knives.
  4. If you don't mind something slightly more robust, CEF do H07RNF ; I assume you are aware that the sheath is only rated up to 50 degrees, so I assume the spot doesn't get too hot
  5. That will be because TalkTalk is a Virtual Network Provider; i.e. they don't have their own network of base stations. I think they use Vodafone, in the same way that Tesco use O2.
  6. Their Twitter Feed suggests that it was due to air traffic congestion.
  7. Cyclone, Not relevant the the OP's issue, and I don't think there are many in Sheffield, but some of the newer red light cameras are "Redspeed" "Speed on Green". I've a vague feeling that the one on Fred Mulley Way in Attercliffe might be one of these.
  8. I'm not sure you should be asking for joints on an open forum; I thought that only happened on the Dark Net
  9. Here you go They are resident in Sheffield as well; I think sometimes seen round Nether Edge. See Also this link
  10. Well OP's Last Activity on the forum was; Yesterday @ 23:17, so it looks like he/she's not terribly bothered either; I guess I was wasting my time.
  11. The last time I used them they were still in Wombwell, so it's a while ago, but they did a cracking job on my old Ducati
  12. Are you sure you can't just buy replacement handles? Alternatively my preferred chromers are over in Mexborough https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=precision+chrome+plating+mexborough&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&tbm=lcl&ved=0CCgQvS4wAGoVChMIqO7RsOqtyAIVA2sUCh1IagA9&rlfi=hd:;si:8952969673813178088
  13. These Lights? I must admit, I didn't know there was a camera there. Assuming there is to be a prosecution, the Registered Keeper will receive a letter within 14 calendar days of the alleged offence asking them to identify the driver. This must be replied to; if not, the penalty is quite severe. It may be combined with a letter offering a course, or offer of fixed penalty etc. if the RK is the driver. Assuming you are the keeper, and your address is correct on your V5C (Go and check it, if you are the RK); you should be able to rest easy after 14 days have passed if you've heard nothing. If you're sure there is a camera there, and you were definitely flashed, and the RK doesn't receive a letter, then it might be worth contacting the relevant body to endure that it hasn't got lost in the post; N.B. wait until the full 14 days are up. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, including my comments above, without verifying them yourself first; it could have been written by anyone, just like me . p.s. See Here for a list of Sheffield red light cameras.
  14. I know what you mean, but again the solution would need extra trained staff = more money. I suspect the "Booking In" isn't admin; more a staff and bed shortage in A&E, which in turn is partly caused by a bed shortage in the hospital, some of which is caused by patients waiting for prescriptions from the pharmacy before discharge etc etc. I've seen this quite a bit, admittedly at a different hospital in a different city (Stockport); My Dad has been a frequent visitor due to a heart complaint. The longest we've had to wait was 55 minutes after the 999 call following a suspected heart attack. This was after he had been discharged too soon, the previous day, due to a bed shortage. In this case the call handler didn't stay on the line as they expected a fast attendance. When I called back to see why no-one had arrived, I was just told that someone was on their way, but with no ETA. When I called back a second time, after 45 minutes, they got stroppy with me. Eventually some wonderful staff turned up from Glossop, quite a long way away, so they were unfamiliar with the area and couldn't find the address; they had been given wrong details. Fortunately it all worked out OK in the end. If someone had just been honest with me and said that there would be a major delay, I could have driven there myself in 10 minutes or less; obviously with a suspected MI the most important thing is to get a paramedic/doctor to the patient, hence not wanting to delay things by me providing the transport.
  15. There's a web site for it HERE The park is in Thorne, Doncaster I believe.
  16. Mighty Clean, if you are new to this forum, you might not realise that some folks who post here and claim to understand the law may be slightly mistaken in their views. I do accept that there are some valid points raised on this thread, but by no means all of them. I really would suggest that you re-visit post 16 on this thread. The folks over there (at least those with a with a high posting count) actually do understand what they are talking about. Look out for hcandersen, Mr Mustard, DancingDad, and Incandescent amongst others.
  17. As per Kidley's suggestion, head for THIS FORUM on Pepipoo, register with them and post up scanned copies of both sides of the tickets and any other correspondence. Make sure you anonymise them first by blanking out anything referring to your own personal details, registration, case numbers etc. You will likely receive help from genuine experts in the field.
  18. If they were at fault, surely you should be claiming off their insurance not yours, though you should tell your insurance company "for information only". You did exchange details with them I presume.
  19. Purely going by Google maps, between your route and the Snake, there's little in it distance wise, but via Castleton is about 15 minutes longer duration. I'd concur with that roughly, as I travel from S10 to Disley at least once a week, and that takes a tiny shade under the hour on a Saturday afternoon. There's less chance of getting stuck behind a wagon though if you go via Winnats, due to the weight restrictions, so it sometimes more or less balances out. And yes Jaylou, it is a fairly stress free drive. It also might give you more confidence in your night driving abilities; unlike the Snake, a mobile does seem to work all of the route if that's what's bothering you. (before some pea-brain jumps in, I'm not advocating using it whilst driving. ) Google Link but I think it's a bit optimistic on the travel times earlier on in the day.
  20. Whichever way you decide to commute, be it train, bus, or car, it's going to cost quite a bit per month. Why not invest a small proportion of that money with a good sympathetic driving instructor to give you some "after dark" driving lessons on unlit roads. Hopefully that will give you the confidence to drive over the Snake and enjoy it, just like the rest of us. (Watch the 50MPH speed limit though. :-) ) You'll be fine when you get used to it, but do research public transport as well for over the winter. Both Snake and Woodhead close due to snow from time to time; the ones who get caught out by the weather tend to be the over confident ones.
  21. Not just the Hallamshire. My Dad's had to wait for up to 1o hours or more at Stepping Hill. It seems to be a major issue in many hospitals sadly.
  22. I don't think the OP is in America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black%27s_Law_Dictionary I should stick with a solicitor Fabgirl.
  23. Bilge, I was struggling myself, and am posting this on behalf of a friend; I'm not a member myself. David told me it is open from 10 am Sunday for the open day, but I'll try and get confirmation later. If you've got an interesting vehicle, I'm sure it would be welcome. It's the same weekend as Rotherham show, so it should make a full day out for anyone interested. I was out there yesterday evening; the entrance road isn't obvious, but continue up behind the car wash and it's the last building on the left, well beyond the Candlelight unit in the following link. Look out for the green tank engine in the distance. Google Street View Link If you do Facebook, they have a page HERE Which says they are providing, free transport from Rotherham Interchange, I assume in one of the old buses. ---------- Post added 12-09-2015 at 14:57 ---------- Just been informed open tomorrow 10.00>16.00
  24. If you've nothing on this weekend and have an interest in old vehicles, why not pop over to the South Yorkshire Transport Museum Open Day on Sunday 13th Sept. It's at; Unit 9 Waddington Way Aldwarke ROTHERHAM S65 3SH Google map Link; Quite near Parkgate retail park; https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/9+Waddington+Way,+Rotherham,+South+Yorkshire+S65+3SH/@53.4484583,-1.3368627,15.75z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x4879769784978a07:0x76eff5749435c06c _______
