It was mad last night, some isles you just couldn't move down at all. Luckily i have a bit of patience and don't mind waiting, unlike some of the people in there! There are things in life worth getting worked up about, shopping is not one of them

Thankfully we got our shopping done yesterday, it was starting to get just a bit mad in Sainsburys! And we just bought the essentials for our christmas dinner... there are still shops open even on the 25th anyway

The student market does seem to be struggling a bit with all the new build apartments available, some landlords are struggling to compete. However as Scottyb says, people are now opting to rent as they are more reluctant to buy/can't get a mortgage etc. As long as your house is decent and realistically priced you shouldn't have much trouble letting it out.

Yikes, we pay £85 a month for gas, electric, internet and phone!! I would check the bills and query it with them, is there an 'E' next to the readings?

If it is a stain due to something spilling on etc. the carpet caused by the tenant then fair enough, however reasonable wear and tear should be covered by the landlord. As mentioned above though, proving that it is reasonable is the tricky area; i would contest it if you believe this is the case.

We tend to bin the flyers as we don't really do takeaways often enough to hang onto them, the one we did have from Prontos was from a year ago (stopped using them as they messed up an order). I'd just like to report that their stuffed crust pizzas were lovely, oh and they do Quorn pizza!

I'd welcome a hairdressers opening up on a Sunday, every other day is work or other commitments and it's so hard to make the time! Pitty you're too far away for me, but i'm sure others are in the same boat

I believe it is recommended, as if any damage occurs it will be covered; thus protecting your bond. I'm not sure if it is compulsory for all tenants to have though, but you definitely can shop around for it. Does your contract state that you will take out insurance?

Well i would go and walk down to tesco, but it's a 20 minute walk and the OH has a poorly head so we're being lazy, for a change.

Who is your letting agent? Do you mean that they have signed you up for insurance themselves?

It's sad that we have to be so wary because of these 'people', sorry to hear about your friend. It seems to be a common thing for them to go along the back of a row of terraces, probably looking for a key left in the door. Not saying that's what happened here, but would like to remind people to please be mindful of this and always keep your keys in a place they can't be seen or reached from outside.

Can you clarify exactly what the tenant find service includes?
