  1. Then you are in for a treat if you watch it. I haven’t watched it yet. I’ve been told it’s good.
  2. If you haven’t watched Breaking Bad give it a try. It’s one of the best things I have watched on Netflix.
  3. I definitely agree with you Presley about Breaking Bad. I watched it a few months ago and I thought it was brilliant. The finale episode in the last season didn’t disappoint, just sad there was no more episodes to watch. Although I thought the Breaking Bad movie was good for me it wasn’t as good as the series. The actors looked older but am I right in thinking the movie, El Camino, was made six years after the series ended?
  4. That’s good. I loved how Joel and Ellie bonded together as the season went on. I will make a note of Barry.
  5. I enjoyed The Last Of Us. Hope they make a second season.
  6. I expected Letby to appeal against her whole life sentence, I’m sure we will soon find out why she is appealing her sentence. The police officer Wayne Cuzens who murdered Sarah Everard appealed against his whole life sentence, his lawyer said a whole life sentence was excessive for murdering one person, what a joke. I’m pleased he lost his appeal.
  7. Apart from absconding from prison, It will be interesting to find out what terrorist charges Khalife is facing. Did he expect a long jail sentence and that’s the reason why he escaped from prison? On the news today it said the UK authorities are currently pursuing 800 terror investigations. It should keep MI5 busy. Also today it’s 22 years since terrorist attacked the Twin Towers, I think most of us on the forum will remember where we were that day when we heard the news..
  8. It is a bit safer with Khalife back in prison. As for our country being a bit safer in the future, I have concerns on that one. At the beginning of the year security sources said 19 suspected Islamic terrorists crossed the channel, god knows how many more have crossed the channel since then. We have a government who is all talk and does nothing about it and I don’t expect opposition parties if they win the next election to solve the problem.
  9. I’d like to think so, but there is to many people around with smart phones. It would cause a riot if he did.
  10. Credit to the police it didn’t take them long to catch him. A plain clothes police officer recognised Daniel who was on a bike. The police officer pulled him off the bike.
  11. Its been on the news because Khalife was facing terrorist charges he should have been in a category A prison, they were probably full up. I have no idea tho what different levels of security there is in category A and B prisons.
  12. Not quite as good. Poor Andy had to tunnel through a sewage pipe.
  13. Our borders are not safe with a Tory Government. They don’t know how to deal with the boats crossing the channel or they don’t want to stop them for some reason. I don’t have much faith in Labour to stop the small boats, Starmer was against tough new asylum laws, when he was asked how he would deal with the small boats crossing the channel he said we need to talk to the French Government. I thought we had already done that. When we go into the next general election I think the conservatives will say they will bring us out of the human rights as part of their manifesto if we are re-elected. I certainly won’t be voting for them if they don’t stop the invasion of our country. It makes me wonder how many more thousands of immigrants will be allowed into the country before the government realises we have a problem?
  14. As soon as the playboy Henry the eighth got bored with a woman they got the chop.
  15. Hillsborough Park is ideal for events and easy to get to if it wasn’t for the weather. The music festival LooseFest at Newcastle which is held on the Town Moor, a large area covered by grass next to the city centre, had to be cancelled at the last minute because of the rain. I feel sorry for the organisers, it’s a bit of a gamble with outdoor events. The British weather is so unpredictable. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-66415410#:~:text=LooseFest%2C a two-day event, with further heavy rain expected.
  16. Sir Winston Churchill. Sir Earnest Shackleton. One of the greatest stories of survival when the odds are against you. He was known as an English explorer but he was Anglo-Irish. Charles Dickens.
  17. Henri Paul was over the drink drive limit, he had been drinking at home the night he was called back to work. He was also caught on the security camera in the Ritz bar consuming two glasses of spirits while waiting for Dodi and Diana. Things could have been different if someone had asked him if he had been drinking before he got behind the wheel of the car? The person who was responsible for the accident was the driver and the paparazzi who chased the car. Fayed had to blame someone for the accident so why not Prince Philip instead of looking closer to home.
  18. I agree that some of Wilko shops are not ideal for parking. They opened one at Meadowhall and about the same time they opened one at the Metrocentre Gateshead shopping centre, near where I live, both ideal for free parking. Did they realise that some of there locations are out dated but they left it to late to do something about it? I will also miss Wilko when they close.
  19. I agree with Anna when she says language evolves over time. I’ve noticed how the Geordie accent has changed over the years, it’s become much softer but still has a lot of unique sounds, its much more understandable today. Occasionally you will hear someone talking in Geordie slang up here in Newcastle and surrounding area, it sounds awful, and I can understand why a lot of people can’t understand what they are talking about.
  20. Can’t say I know what’s happening in India at the moment, these days I try not to listen to foreign news. If the reports are correct it doesn’t sound as though much has changed since India gained its independence in 1947. Muslins and Hindus couldn’t live together then, eventually to bring an end to the violence the British decided partition was the answer. Mainly Hindus living in India and Muslims in Pakistan. Religion is it worth it.
