  1. Sad news about Lisa Marie. I agree with Anna she was a troubled soul. Her son committed suicide which left her devastated. A messy divorce with Michael Lockwood trying to take her for every penny she had. RIP
  2. At times you have to wonder if God did so love the world.
  3. I find it hard to go to sleep some nights. When I finally fall asleep it’s nearly time to get up. It leaves you you feeling tired during the day. People who go to bed and fall asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow don’t know how lucky they are.
  4. The Thai Cave Rescue I’ve binge watched The Thai Cave Rescue, 6 episodes, based on a true story of 12 boys and their coach became trapped in a cave after it was flooded at the exit. How resilient those boys were in such awful conditions and brilliant work from all of the divers who took part in rescuing the boys.. It was a bit slow for me at first but the rescue to save all of the boys made up for it.
  5. Not everyone enjoys the same films, but I will keep my eye open for The Shining.
  6. You are right. He should’ve definitely kept his mouth shut and kept the Taliban out of it.
  7. We have only got Harry’s account of what happened. The Royal family will carry on and come through it. They will stick by their rules, “never complain, never explain”. As I have already said on this thread, Harry wants all the publicity he can get to promote his book and make his millions. I’m just pleased the Queen is no longer here to see the publication of his book.
  8. l would like to think that a cancer surgeon has the brains not to commit a crime.
  9. I would deport all foreign nationals who have made the UK their home back to their place of birth if they commit a crime whilst living in this country.
  10. Delores Claiborne was another good film. I didn’t realise though is was adapted from a Stephen King Book.
  11. I’ll have to make a note of The Shining. I haven’t seen this film.
  12. I can remember Tim Robbins being interviewed some years ago, he said the film didn’t get a very good review from the critics when it was first released. What films I have watched of Stephen King The Shawshank Redemption is my favourite, although I enjoyed Misery but it’s not a film I would want to watch again.
  13. The Shawshank Redemption I’ve seen this film a few times but I still enjoyed watching it again last night on BBC. If you have never seen this film before it leaves you on edge at times wondering what will happen next. It’s about friendship and survival in awful prison conditions, also for me it’s got one of the best prison escapes that I’ve seen in a film. First class acting from Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman who are the main actors. It’s one of those films that leaves you wanting more at the end or a follow up to the film. 10/10
  14. If Harry wants his family back he should stop slagging them off in the media. It’s more likely though he’s after all the publicity he can get at the moment to promote his book. He’s definitely his mother’s son. Like hackey lad I also had no time for her.
  15. There is so many people who are worthy to be called hero of the year. For me Deborah James is one of them, Bowel Babe. She battled her cancer publicly to make people aware of bowel cancer and not to let embarrassment get in the way to seek medical help.
  16. And I second that. Happy New Year to everyone.
  17. Thanks for sharing the link. I love to hear the bagpipes, it looked a bit dangerous tho fire coming out of the pipes. It was good tho.
  18. I’m not a fan of the new year and normally I don’t bother with it, you don’t know what you are seeing in. This year however I’m going to Newcastle centre in the evening it’s really to celebrate a relatives special birthday. Then a walk along the Quayside to see the laser lights being switched on and the iconic Tyne bridges lit up with vibrant lights and a fireworks display. They did the laser lights last year because the new year fireworks display was cancelled because of covid. It was spectacular last year to look outside your window and see the sky lit up with laser lights. People who lived miles away said they could see it. They did the laser light experience every hour in the evening for 3 nights.
  19. A number of years ago I knew someone who worked as a midwife in Saudia Arabia. She said there was strict religious rules on alcohol but allowed abortion if the baby was the wrong gender.
  20. I use to like honey on toast. To decrystallise the honey for my toast I use to scrape a large spoonful out of the jar, then put it on a plate and stick it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. It was okay then to spread on toast.
  21. I have to agree what has been said on here. We can do without a vote on the monarchy at the moment. Before the Queen’s funeral Charles toured the UK as King. The Streets were lined with people particularly in Northern Ireland and Scotland who greeted him. I don’t think the media expected that amount of people cheering him on. If he keeps his mouth shut he could be a popular king.
  22. His Dark Materials After waiting two years for the third season the eight episodes are all on iplayer for me to binge watch at my leisure. I’ve watched the first episode of the new season and it was good.
