  1. An old neighbour use to go to the WI in Grenoside Sheffield where I use to live and she said at the start of every meeting they would stand and sing Jerusalem, so I just took it for granted that’s what they all do through out the country. I’m sure our late Queen was a member of the WI.
  2. Pinocchio It’s a new version on Netflix but I’m not sure if this film is suitable for small children. This version is by Guillermo del Tor who I have never heard of before. I wouldn’t say it was a remake of the old Disney film. This version is more dark and satire it also touches on the rise of fascism under Mussolini. It lost its way in parts but towards the end it picked up. 6/10
  3. Yes Jerusalem probably is more rousing. If the women’s institute can make it there national anthem then it’s good enough to be our national anthem.
  4. I wouldn’t say no to either of them Cressida. Another two hymns I love. Every time I hear, I Vow To Thee My Country, it makes me think of all the British soldiers in WW1, WW2 and more recent conflicts who lost their lives. I get quite emotional listening to that particular hymn.
  5. That was interesting I didn’t know that.
  6. Our National anthem is boring so I wouldn’t object To Land Of Hope And Glory to replace the old one. It’s one of my favourite hymns. At the moment we could do with a little bit of hope. And as Anna says use the old one when the King is in attendance,
  7. In some towns and cities if you say someone is bonnie it means they are fat?
  8. After watching the first episode I think your right.
  9. I agree with a couple of miles buffer zones. I’m sure there was something in the news that some of the staff working in the clinics have had deaths threats?
  10. Well spotted I missed that. Might give the second episode another go to see what she spurns out this time.
  11. Don’t think I will be watching the second episode or if I do I’ll be skimming through it. He goes on about all the media intrusion he’s had to put up with throughout his life. He wants to be thankful for media helping him to make his money.
  12. I have started to watch the new series of Harry & Megan on Netflix. So far I’ve watched the first episode and it was boring. They said they are doing this programme to tell their side of the story. It’s more likely the reportedly £88 million pound they are being paid from Netflix had something to do with it.
  13. That was a good idea with the sherry to promote your salon and get the customers in.
  14. I’m all for having a buffer zone around abortion clinics to help protect the woman and healthcare staff. The protesters can stand outside Parliament with their placards if they feel they need to protest.
  15. I’m sure you have some interesting stories to tell about your training days. It would be nice to hear some. My Aunt Pat use to go to your shop on Wostenholm Road to have her blonde hair bleached and cut. She thought you were a very good hairdresser. Aunty Pat is the type of lady you would never forget once you knew her. I better not say her second name without her permission on the Sheffield Forum.
  16. At the moment I don’t think Farage is a threat but we still have a few years to the next election tho. He might not be a winner but he is good at putting pressure on the Government to change policies.
  17. All the very best cuttsie and Minimo and keep a positive attitude.
  18. Let Him Go A retired sheriff, played by Kevin Costner, and his wife grieving over the death of there only son, set out to rescue their young grandson after their daughter in law remarries into a violent family. A bit slow for me at times, but it wasn’t bad. Some nice scenery tho, the film was set in America in the early 1960s. 7/10
  19. I had problems with the Halifax App a few years ago on my iPad. I couldn’t log on to my account. I deleted the app and installed a new one and this solved the problem.
  20. A relative has a Ninja Dual Air Fryer, she loves it and cooks all sorts in it. She made a chip buttie for me to show me how it works. She washed a large potato, left the skin on, cut it into chips and mixed them with a teaspoon of olive oil in a basin. Seasoned with salt and pepper then into the Ninja for about 15 minutes. It was one of the best chip butties I have tasted. Definitely no need to but frozen chips. The only problem with the Ninja dual air fryer I’m not sure if you can get a full chicken in it.
  21. When I said Government I was referring to Parliament. I had no idea tho who was responsible for the format of the ballot papers. So thanks for that.
  22. I thought the ballot papers were issued by the government.
  23. We did give Scotland an independent vote. Spain didn’t give Catalonia one. I’m sure the Catalan Parliament will be watching Scotland very closely in the future. At the next General Election it wouldn’t surprise me if the SNP puts a footnote at the bottom of the ballot paper asking the people if they want independence and to tick yes or no.
