  1. if Scotland did become independent it would be interesting to know how it would be sorted and how many years it would take. There would be trade deals to sort out, crossing the boarder from England to Scotland, the military and could an independent Scotland keep the pound? It will be interesting to see what the SNP will do next to get their independence.
  2. Binge watched the final last three episodes of season 11 The Walking Dead. I’ve stuck with this programme from the beginning. I thought it was better when Andrew Lincoln was in it shame he left. Although The Walking Dead has come to an end there is going to be a few spinoffs next year with most of the main characters in them, so it’s not really goodbye to the show, it’s more see you later.
  3. The camera work wasn’t very good at Blackpool. It’s much better when they are dancing in the studio. There was to many dancers on the floor when the celebrities were doing their dance, which distracted me from watching them.
  4. Here Alone A woman struggles to survive in the woods living off the land after most of the population is decimated due to a zombie like infection. 6/10
  5. Kym Marsh did a brilliant Argentine Tango.
  6. If you want to make money in France at the moment open a shop selling or making rubber dinghys. You could be a millionaire in know time.
  7. More people are choosing to have a direct cremation. My late mother didn't want a funeral but I was worried about what other people would think of me if I didn't have one. That was 9 years ago. I can't remember direct funerals being advertised then if they were I would have had one. I went to view my mother in a coffin at the funeral home. I wished I hadn't because at times that is how I remember her instead of how she was. There is none of that with a direct funeral
  8. It’s hard to believe that a normal thinking person can kill these animals for no reason at all. So they had to be high on drugs or failing that they are just plain evil.
  9. Sad news about the goats being killed. People who kill children and animals who are unable to defend themselves are the dregs of society. This is what Kate Middleton said today about drug addicts and alcoholics, “I KNOW THIS WAS NOT A CHOICE”. I’m not to sure what to think about that. It’s the pain and suffering these people cause to others to fund their addiction. I hope they catch whoever who killed the goats.
  10. Simon and Garfunkel’s greatest hits on YouTube.
  11. I’m pleased your family will be returning. Many years ago my parents had a caravan in Amble. The place has changed a lot since I was a child. I love Bamburgh Castle and the unspoilt beaches near by. It’s a bit further up the coast from Amble but I’m sure your family will like it. If they like old castles there are more up here than there is in all of England.
  12. Yes there is some lovely places in Northumberland. I don’t like Newcastle City Centre though. I feel boxed in when I go there, I never get that feeling in the centre of Sheffield, it’s much greener and open compared to Newcastle City Centre but there is the Quayside up here with lovely views of the iconic Tyne Bridges so that’s some compensation.
  13. The central heating has had few quick blasts now and again. Living near the Northumberland coast it can get very cold up here.
  14. Old People It's a horror film. A mother has to defend her two children from blood seeking pensioners. 5/10
  15. Togo A homeless elderly man who sleeps on the street where he cleans cars for a living is approached by drug dealers. They want him to sell drugs on the street where he works, but he refuses. The drug dealers try to make things very awkward for Togo but they have picked on the wrong man. It’s a vigilante film and the end of the film is predictable, but I enjoyed it. 7/10
  16. I bet you have a good story to tell about your apprenticeship and Embassy days. You know where the history thread is.
  17. Now get yourself off to the History Thread and tell us a story about your Locarno days.
  18. I know Biden has said there will be consequences if Russia uses nuclear or chemical weapons when Putin threatens to use them. I’m just wondering if the White House aides also sends private messages to Moscow repeating what Biden has already said publicly.
  19. I said something similar in another post. Putin can’t think much about his family when he threatened to use nuclear weapons.
  20. I agree about the news at times being depressing and watching some programmes does take your mind off the world problems we face today.
  21. I never had you down for being a strictly fan. You’ve surprised me.
  22. Yes I agree and I was pleased she won the competition.
  23. It use to be one of my favourite programmes Pattrica. I didn’t watch it when it first started as I’m not a dancer. My mum loved strictly, she had a crush on Brendan Cole. She told me to give it a try which I did and I was fascinated with the dancing. But I didn’t enjoy it last year and I’m finding it hard to watch this year. I record the show and just watch certain dancers.
  24. It was in the news that he was paid thirty thousand pounds when he came to Sheffield to give a talk about climate change. That was a number of years ago which would be worth a lot more today.
