  1. So far we are getting a one sided story and I agree with you we might not get the full facts or the context about the baby’s skin colour. I think they have done this interview for the publicity, to keep them in the spot light so they can carry on earning their millions of pounds.
  2. Just watched a few bits of the interview that is going to be on TV tonight. These two live a life style most people can only dream about. Why didn’t they just walk away put the past behind them and get on with earning their millions. But that’s not enough for them instead they want to wash their dirty linen in public.
  3. The Terror on BBC2. All 8 episodes are on iplayer. I thought it was a fiction horror programme but I’ve read it’s based on true events.
  4. I’ve just read that S Begum is considering a legal attempt to attend her court hearing in the Syrian camp to continue her fight. So as you say it could be done through Skype or Zoom.
  5. I’m pleased she has lost her appeal. What happens now, will she have to fight her citizenship case in Syria?
  6. One Day Like This, by Elbow It’s a lovely song
  7. I don’t know much about China using fake news against the West, but the American President of the time Bush junior and Tony Blair used it when we were told about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Even after the weapons inspectors said there was none. They lied and people died.
  8. Red Dot and I’ll give it the same marks as Mr Fisk. 7/10 I was beginning to feel sorry for the couple who were being pursued until I knew why.
  9. Domestic violence remained largely unrecognised by the police at one stage and classed as a private matter. Not any more, the police are trained on how to respond to it. So perhaps part of their training is similar to a social worker. Society has changed over the years. Drugs are easy to buy and they can change your personality. So I suppose police training also has to change to understand how drugs can affect a person.
  10. I don’t think they will find life on Mars, but you never know. However they could find some interesting fossils which could help us to understand more about the planet.
  11. I didn’t use to record the news but I do now. I couldn’t watch it all the way through but because it’s been recorded I can fast forward it. I think Padders is right about the Lockdown Syndrome.
  12. It’s years since I’ve had golden syrup. I’ll have to remember to buy some when I go shopping to put on porridge when I make it again.
  13. At the moment with the pesky covid virus it’s nice to try and support businesses who are still trying to keep going by offering takeaway food when their cafes are closed, and if selling special pancakes helps them, then I say good luck to them. It’s years since I’ve made pancakes which didn’t turn out very good if I remember. I put too much batter in the pan and used water and milk in the recipe, also I didn’t leave the batter to rest. Your basic recipe looks good so I will make a note of it.
  14. Just watched an old news I recorded yesterday saying that the father of the missing chef Claudia Lawrence who disappear 12 years ago has died. I thought this man acted with dignity when he was interviewed over the years about her disappearance. It’s sad that he’s died and never found out what happened to Claudia.
  15. Your welcome. Hope you enjoy your chocolates.
  16. Apache by the Shadows on YouTube and other music by them. They know how to play a guitar.
  17. Bridge of Spies. It’s a true story during the time of the Cold War. I really liked this film, didn’t think I would as I’m not into spy films during that era. I knew Tom Hanks was in the film who I like so thought I would give it a go. Pleased I did. 8/10
  18. I watched Captain Tom being interviewed last year on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, one of the best I’ve seen, what a remarkable life he’s had. He came over as being a lovely man with a cheeky sense of humour. Sad news. RIP Sir Captain Tom Moore
  19. A nice bit of news I’ve just seen. The UK is applying to Join a free trade deal made up of 11 Asia and Pacific nations under post Brexit plans. This bit is for the economist on here, it’s expected to generate more than 13% of the worlds income. I’m not sure how that compares with the trade deal we had with the EU. However it sounds good to me.
  20. In all my ignorance I don’t know much about Barnier other than seeing him on TV during Brexit negotiations, so I suppose the question is will he be a friend to this country or look for ways to continue to punish the UK for leaving the EU.
  21. Macron claims AstraZeneca vaccine is ineffective on older people hours after it was approved for use on ALL adults by the EU. Could it be because France’s Institute is ending development of its Covid vaccine after it failed its first trials or because of Brexit? I’m going to say it’s because of Brexit. I don’t know how long he has left as President or how popular he is in France but if he is standing for re-election I hope the man is kicked out. I’m expecting hundreds of immigrants crossing the channel this year when conditions improve with Macron supplying the boats. People in the UK who are waiting for the vaccine should ignore his comments and listen to our own medical professionals.
  22. I’m going to nominate Becky B. It sounds to me after reading her post on, When This Is Over, she could do with something to cheer her up and what’s better than a box of chocolates.
