Thank you for that. I’ll be walking around St George’s looking for the nest, hopefully next week. -
Time to completely overhaul out Tax system
hauxwell replied to poppet2's topic in Padders' Bar: General Discussions
I don’t agree with putting tax on basic food, at the moment it’s VAT free and should stay that way. The price of food seems to be increasing each month, putting more tax on everyday basic items is not the answer. It will be the poor who suffer. If we put tax on everything, won’t this cause inflation to rise? -

I would love to see them do their first flight. I’m sure it won’t be long now. They seem to be flapping their wings a lot. ---------- Post added 31-05-2018 at 20:31 ---------- Im going to be in Sheffield next week and I’m going to St George’s, think it’s just off West Street, to see if I can see the Peregrines. -
The father of these two boys who were killed has been found dead in a hotel room in Corfu. The police say they are not treating his death as suspicious. Not sure how he died, but I suspect the death of his sons has something to do with it. I feel sorry for the rest of the family.

I have been told that there is good fish and chip shop at Seahouses, so perhaps I’m not being fair. -

You can get public transport from Newcastle that goes to Berwick upon Tweed and goes along the costal route stopping at various places. It’s not expensive and if you have a bus pass you can use it. Been told that the views are lovely, but takes two hours to get to Berwick, I’ve only done part of it. -

The Northumberland coast is lovely, near where I live. There’s Bamburgh Castle with a lovely coast to walk along. There is also Holy Island which has a Castle, however it is a tidal island so you can only go on the Island at certain times. So if you are into lovely unspoilt beeches there is plenty to explore on the Northumbrian coast. A few miles in land there is Alnwick Castle and village, famous for the Harry Potter films and other things also Morpeth Village. Come to think about it there is an awful lot of castles up here, but not everyone’s into that sort of thing. If you like shopping there is Newcastle, which has the same shops as Sheffield apart from Fenwick’s Department Store, it has lots of restaurants inside and a very trendy food hall which is well out of my budget, but the shop is well worth a visit. It’s also famous for its themed Christmas Windows, but that might not be much use to you. On the down side the fish and chips or rubbish up here. So every few weeks when I visit Sheffield I always go to my favourite chippy. Also it might be a bit further than you want to travel. -

Very good webcam at Leamington, and they are protected from the weather. I have just watched the mother, or could be father pecking at the failed egg. Just wondered why. -

A 17 year old boy was shot dead in London yesterday, and the mother of the victim was on the news calling for an end to the violence. It says so far 60 people died from knife and gun shot injuries in London alone this year. If these numbers are correct who are we to call America’s gun crime and Mr Trump when we can’t even put our own house in order. Its disgusting and I don’t think our politicians have any idea how to handle the situation. How many people with knife injuries, who survive go to hospitals in London each week? There must be days when these hospitals look like a war zone, with all the walking wounded who go there for treatment. When it’s on the news that there is a murder in London, it doesn’t shock anymore it’s part of every day life. -

Dinner has arrived, missed some of it because I had to answer the phone, but there is only the chicks is the nest at the moment. ---------- Post added 02-05-2018 at 20:32 ---------- It’s lovely getting a glimpse of the babies, covered in white fluff, or what ever it is. I tend to wonder what happens should an egg fail. Do the adults push it out of the nest, or eat it? -

Missed all the excitement the screen shots are good. Seems to be quiet at the moment. I’m ashamed to say I can’t tell the difference from the male and female but I have only got an iPad. -

Thank you for that. I have lost count of how many times I have watched her. Not sure if they turn the webcam off when the baby falcons leave the nest, I’m going to miss it if they do. -

Good luck, and I’m sure it will go your way. I know two people who have just had an assessment and they ended up getting more money. So be positive. -

I congratulate him for still being the president of America when people said he would be impeached within a year of his presidency, still carrying on when all the protest marches were taking place in the first few months of him being president. For that alone the mans got guts. I do believe he had something to do with North Korea getting rid of their nuclear weapons, even if their test site has partially collapsed. I know there will be some on here who will disagree with me and of course they are entitled to do so. If I had to choose who should be given The Noble Prize, Obama who lost my respect when he said the UK will have to get to the back of queue if we vote Brexit, Tony Blair the man with blood on his hands or Donald Trump. It would be Donald Trump. -

Perhaps it’s the people who want to nominate him should be doing the explaining. -

It’s been on the news today that Mr Trump, The President of America, could get The Nobel Peace Price, yes they are just rumours but who would have thought it. A lot of people said he wouldn’t last a few months when he was elected, and now he could be a contender for a peace prize. Well done Mr President. -
They do look as though they have aged, they were on TV this morning. So here’s hoping they can still sing okay, and as Alan Hartley says, appreciate it for what it is. You are right about the Australians they love them. They have been asked to perform at Glastonbury, but they have declined.
-
I’m sure they will sound okay, although I’m not expecting them to be as good as they were in the 80s, but with their money they should look good. However when I see Priscilla Presley on TV who isn’t short of a bob or two she looks like a wax work doll, so doesn’t matter how much money you have age catches up with you. ---------- Post added 29-04-2018 at 13:11 ---------- We will just have to wait and see.

I have a strong feeling that the parents of Alfie, might sell their story to a newspaper, I bet the media are already bidding for it.

I second that. ---------- Post added 28-04-2018 at 08:51 ---------- I bet you also think Blair is the best PM this country has had. Pleased Trump won the election and not H Clinton.
