Cat are a nuisance

Recommended Posts

The link to cat repeller that mister m put, that brand work well for me, some brands are useless but I have 2 of these in my garden and they have stopped all the neighbours cats using it as a toilet.

I got a pack of 2 not very expensive and worth every penny, I know when the battery needs changing because the cats are back.

If I was to buy them again would go for the solar ones save the hassle of changing batteries, they last roughly a month.

When you say 'can't,' you mean 'aren't.'

I would change the law to give them the same provision as pheasants. Legally speaking, I am entitled to shoot a pheasant on my own land. I'd never shoot a cat myself but if there was the possibility, the people who let them roam around murdering all the local frogs would maybe think twice about what was 'natural' for the Felix-filled-wildlife-disasters called Tiddles...

We found a dead baby Rabbit in our garden a while back. I put that down to cats as it wasnt eaten.

Someone suggested ice cubes and catapult!! Another 12v electric fencing (for horses)!!

Both seem a bit extreme.

I don't wish to fall out with my neighbours, we get on really well.

Problem is their gardens are pristine, their cats use their garden to sunbath!

I'll try the ultrasonic idea.

I know this is probably funny to most readers, but it's sending me mad.

I've spent a small fortune on my garden. What with decking, patio, grass not to mention all the young trees I've planted.

But each day I'm confronted before I go out to work and when I come home and every damn weekend of neighbours cats. Three different neighbours and 4 cats between them. My deck posts and handrails are ruined by constant scratching. So too are my young trees. My grass seems to be nothing but a litter tray for my neighbours pets.

Funny....? Yeah real funny trying to get splinters out of my young sons fingers and bare feet because he's wanted to walk on the deck or grab the handrail.

Seriously, enough is enough. These are not my pets, my gates are shut. Do I have any legal powers, or does the law say cats can do as they please?

After 5yrs getting my garden how I wanted, it's horrible that I should now just allow it to go to rack and ruin.

Fed up. Don't say buy a cat or dog. We want neither.

Just our own garden back.

I've recently considered moving. But the expense of which will force us to downsize....why the hell should I!!!

What cats are they - bengal tigers?

Does your niebhour have an outdoor space set aside for their cat to do their business in, we have 2 outdoor cats and it wasn't difficult to get them to use a dug over spot by a tree in our garden.

Also both cats are terrified of plastic bags, one sound of a bag being waved in their direction and they're on their heels and away.

Just make them know you don't wanted them in the garden, ours ain't that special and they learn quick enough who's gardens to avoid.

As for the decking sanding down should fix.

I've same problem. Cat **** from nxt doors cats 5 of them. Use my front side back garden as there toilet. and I can relate to the scratching on the gate posts looks such mess. I'm thinking moving real soon walk past my house and can smell <removed> as they just do it on foot path aswell. I've had enough and it does get you down. Ruining the gardens etc. When I mentioned it to my neighbor she wasn't listening not to mention she's 5 dogs & the smell <removed> in the hot summer festering isn't nice either coming from her garden next door

I don't have pets, so I don't know the answer, but is messing in other people's gardens ,rather than their own something that cats prefer to do?

A friend of mine has a couple of house cats, and they are very well trained and use the litter tray.
