chem1st
Jobcentre advertises for 'hitman' to kill undesirables for the Government after staff fail to notice it was a fake. Bosses at the Department for Work and Pensions were today left 'shaken and stirred' after pranksters posted a fake advert for a James Bond-esque 'Target Elimination Specialist' on their Jobcentre website. The spoof recruitment ad appeared on the DirectGov site and stated that the successful applicant should be trained in using sniper rifles, be able to leave foreign countries by non-conventional means and assume new identities. It added that candidates for the MI6 post should be willing to 'remove people' on behalf of the Government and would be equipped with special watches, jet packs and mini-submarines. southcoast
Not sure about fakes but there are plenty of jobs that have been closed yet are still on the system.
Swampster
Just confirms what I've thought for a while... they just generally allow any old unvetted crap to be posted on there. I've seen it myself, obvious money making scams, phishing scams all sorts on direct.gov.uk.. and we're supposed to trust these people to help get the unemployed back into work? Conrod
It must all be part of a great conspiracy.
Mecky
The worrying thing is that some people would condone that sort of action; you only have to look at some of the posts on here to see that.

Actually, (mod hat on), we can't actually stop people from posting on here. Whether it's a scam or not. We rely heavily on users reporting anything they see that's 'dodgy'...or suspected 'dodgy'...then it get's looked at, and if it is scamming or whatever, then it get removed a soon as possible and the user banned. But we can't stop things actually being posted in the first place. Imagne how it might be if 'every' post had to be approved before appearing on the forum...It's simply not possible! Bypassblade
So the DWP fell for a spoof, get over it, the advert must have covered criteria set out such as not sexist, ageist or discriminatory. I wonder how many people actually tried to apply for it.
