Broken Bus Windscreen Abbeydale Road.

Recommended Posts

Was on the 75 heading into town around 23.30 tonight which was packed due to the Hawley gig when it came to an abrupt halt at the bottom of Abbeydale Road (near Dhanistas) when two young kids who looked about 10 put the windscreen through & legged it in the direction of Chippinghouse Road.

Who the hell lets there kids out at that time on a Saturday night? Never mind all the poor sods waiting for the last bus to Chapeltown that'll never come & the cost of replacing a windscreen.

There has been several instances of youths throwing stones at cars during the evening in that area recently. Also these same youths have been shining laser pens at passing motorists. This happened to a friend of mine on Abbeydale Rd near to the Rude Shipyard Cafe. Take care if you're passing this way.

Scum! Its no wonder some bus drivers are mardy arses when stuff like this happens.

It almost makes you feel sorry for them.

My friend was driving in the morning rush hour down Washington Road by the flats and had a stone thrown at her window by kids.

We need to tackle these problem children by finding the parents, and making them have a seriously long look at themselves.

Kids are not born with stupid/vicious/criminal genes - that whole belief is a myth. It's down to nurture, and these kids aren't getting any. That needs to be addressed. This covers more than unruly kids, this is the principle that needs to be applied to almost everything wrong in society. People are habitual and they react to environment. Break habits, change environments, recondition peoples attitudes and you start to see some improvements.

this has been going on for months if not years, i have been travelling in that area in a car, bus, bicycle. and on each instance, there has been youths that either throw stones, walk out in the middle of the road and force you to stop, or in the case of the bicycle drop kick you off it.

Now when there is up to ten or more youths you don't tend to get brave.. these days you can only pick yourself up and hope they dont carry out a more vivacious attack on your person. not when your on your own.

Was pretty much there too so guessing it's the same kids. Hopefully the bus had cctv so was able to identify them to police.
