guest1986
I would like to share my terrible experience with any future brides out there. Please take it from me - AVOID BERKETEX BRIDE at all costs! I appreciate that some people would have received a good service from Berketex, I however did not...and after further investigation it seems quite a lot of other brides have been left more than dissatisfied with the service provided. I am due to get married on the 13th June and have just been informed by Berketex that my dress wont be ready until the 20th!! According to their records, I am getting married on the 30th so that makes it ok! They refuse to give me a refund, head office couldn't care less if they tried and now I am stuck, £1300 down and no wedding dress.... I am desperate to warn as many people as possible about Berketex so if anyone can help please let me know. I don't want any other brides to be in my situation. The women in the Sheffield shop have been very nice and supportive however the problem lies with head office and the designers, there is only so much the in store staff can do. People from all over the country have been in my situation because all dresses are dealt with by head office and the designers. IF YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT BERKETEX - CANCEL IT! It isn't worth the risk that in a few months you too could be in my situation.
Love2print
Presumably it was the store staff who took the order though? If so did you sign a receipt/contract with your wedding date on. If so and this has the correct date on then they are in breach of contract. If it has the incorrect date on it and you signed it then it is a different matter. Mattenmurg
That is awful. I used Berketex in Sheffield and got on fine. At their advice we put on the form my wedding date a month before it actually was so there was margin for delays.
emmjay
I went to try on at the one in town and thought it was a pretty horrible experience compared to other shops
Marx
You paid £1,300 up-front for a dress that you are going to wear for one day? I'm in the wrong business.
guest1986
I never went in another shop so have nothing to compare them too. I went into their Manchester store and they were even more rude..the woman actually insulted me and wouldnt let me try on my dress. I ended up getting my dress the day before my wedding. Luckily it didnt need any alterations, id have been screwed if it did!!
