Sweatshopboy
I am deciding between duck eggs or kippers for breakfast, but going through all these do you remember threads has made me nostalgic for pikelets, hot buttered one's with golden syrup. It seems donkey's since the pikelet shop at Hillsborough shut and I can't think of anymore.

hillsbro
same thing innit? Yes - more or less. Pikelet shops (such as Moule's in Hillsborough) also sold oatcakes, which are DELICIOUS, either fried with an egg, or toasted with cheese etc. You can still get them - as Robbiet wrote, markets are the best places to look.
