*_ash_*
I've just got hold of an old magazine 'The Sheffield Spectator' from 1973. I've only got it for a couple of days, so I've scanned it. I thought it might interest some older posters and/or expats. I've scanned it maximum scale so you should be able to zoom in on any writing. Split into 4 categories, so you can look at anything that might interest you. Front Cover Excuse my laziness for not labeling all the links.. Adverts.. Lostrider
Just Noticed Lou Burgin the Barber on DD5. No self respecting MOD would have gone anywhere else for a haircut in those days.
*_ash_*
I love the advert for Uncle Sams on AD23 It must have been around 73 when it opened. I can remember the Burger & Chips sold in a basket. I always felt sure that Uncle Sams had been around since the dinosaurs. Thanks for putting a year to it. There are so many restaurants around today, that when I think back to bein a lil en, there were only a few around - by comparison.
*_ash_*
Love the "sumptuous nylon upholstery" on the Vauxhall. I always love to relax by my rear heated window. Such luxuries just aren't appreciated these days. Honestly, I love cars, and have never ever seen one of these! Was it a flop or what?
Lostrider
Love the setee in the Ponsfords Advert. We had one similar. It was in 70's orange/brown and from Cantors and only a quarter of the price of Ponsfords.
