gillybear
I don't quite get where they are going with this. They are trying to get kids interested in programming by starting off with a simple device, I would imagine schools will be buying them and using them as control boards for things like robots etc.. Anything that gets kids interested in science projects get the from me.

Sid Umpley
Rich, do you realise the world runs on Linux? Iphones/ipads/android phones are all linux based the majority of servers hosting your websites are linux based Apply osx is linux based even just considering the phone aspect something like 75% of people what own a modern phone have a linux device in their pocket right now. Fewer than those who have an Acorn based device in their pocket... Nonetheless, I don't think this device is aimed at Rich, or any of the similar ones which don't run Linux. Mostly because he's focused on the OS, not the tinkering potential.

dosxuk
Iv been waiting for one of these for ages. Lets hope they dont take ages to make want one for an upstairs media box I think some people will be surprised by the delivery times - there are lots of people already planning to buy several for projects (including myself), including some companies seeing if they can use it for products. The initial production batch may literally fly off the shelves! The concern is whether the people behind it will actually be able to keep up with the demand in order to make enough to sell to the kids they want to get interested!
