SYorksDeano Posted April 10, 2012 Share Posted April 10, 2012 A youth club on Meynell Road at Southey Green, Sheffield was deliberately set on fire on Monday evening. Fire crews from Elm Lane and Rivelin were called at 6:15pm to find smoke issuing from the detached single storey building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put the fire out. This fire was the second deliberate fire in as many days on Meynell Road, on Sunday evening at 8pm fire crews were called to a detached garage near to the school. LPG cylinders were found inside the garage and a cordon was put in place. 15 houses were evacuated for around an hour while firefighters tackled the blaze. Firefighters left the scene at 9:30pm.
