Does anybody change the name of the area that you live in?

I live at Westfield but when it comes to filling in forms i tend to put Halfway(which is only one street away) as sounds better.Does anybody else do this.Examples?

I come from Wadsley Bridge but live about 10seconds away from h'boro!

So I just say I come from h'boro as not many people seem to know where wadsley bridge is

I used to live at the bridge but constantly got mail addressed to Birley Carr, Foxhill, Wadsley Bridge, Hillsborough, Parson Cross. Annoying thats what it is when I'm trying to convince people that I live in a nice area.

People on Ecclesall Road often get their area referred to (particularly by estate agents) as Ecclesall when it certainly isn't.

Yeah, I've looked at a few houses that were advertised as Nether Edge but were quite blatantly Sharrow. Estate Agents do this a lot......

This is true. I used to live in a flat on Clarkegrove Road, near the Botanical Gardens and this was advertised as Ecclesall by the estate agents. I also saw it referred to as Broomhill but I'm not sure that's right either!! In fact, just what area is it?!

Some people from Heeley Bottom used to say they were in Meersbrook as they thought it sounded better for some reason:D
