carsupplier
Like many sixteen year olds in the 70's I had a sports moped, a Suzuki AP50. Who else had a sports 'ped' and what memories do you have of it and the 70's?

only_me
Myself and two mates had FS1E's those were the days mate, we must have done a million miles on those things, great fun. My first moped was a yamaha FS1E apparently they would do 60mph:). Then i got a garelli tiger which was a decent moped. I think they started restricting mopeds around 1978 because of the rising accident rate amongst teenagers.

40summat
Wow! how ever did we manage to live to this age? all that unbridled power! I stuck with Yamaha's for years, moving on to an RD250 an RD400 then an LC250 and a couple of LC350s, the RD350LCs are my all time favorite bike, they were called 'litre beaters' and for good reason. my first large(ish) bike was a Kwak GPZ600R and immediately knew i should have gone for the GPZ900 instead. Can anyone remember Lewis Leathers at the top of the moor? or Pippy's for second hand leather jackets.

carsupplier
I remember a 'Lewis Leathers' at the bottom of the Moor, It was opposite a pet shop (Mace's?) across the road from the Salvation Army hostel, we used to go there for new visors and to look at the leathers we could'nt afford!
