slickwitch
It was a constant threat in my life. "You'd better work hard or you'll end up at Gunstone's like yer mother". I never did end up there, but my mum worked there for most of her life. She still has a great network of friends who all worked with her, they still go on holiday together. It can't have been that bad. She was always knackered though.

cat631
Does anyone know if there is a Roll of Honour in Gunstones to the casualties of WW1 or WW2? Thanks.
pete_jim
I went to school with Sheena Gunstone, I'm sure she was part of the Bakery family.
Gideon
Main memory of Gunstones: Doing PE in the field next to it, in the period before lunch, in grim weather... on meat pie day.

Lady Star
Years ago just about everyone I knew either worked there/had worked there or had family there. I gave it a miss and did a week at the sausage factory at Handsworth.... A week was all I could manage I gave it up and needed a years holiday to recover :hihi: Pod That mantel now belongs to Ant Marketing - Everyone I know had done at least a couple of shifts there! I'd rather work in a factory than a call centre tho... At least you have a laugh in factories - call centres put years on you!!!
