Hatfield House Lane School Design

When I lived in Shiregreen in the 50's Someone told me that The School then called "Hatfield House Lane School "(Now Firth Park)...Was designed by an Architect who was once in the Navy and the Design of the School was based on the lines of a ship..So I went and had another look and he was right..It is like ship The bridge, port holes, and other ship features are all there even the flag pole on the roof ...inside you can go up stairs onto the bridge and look out the windows towards Bellhouse Road and imagine you were heading out to sea...Has anyone more info on this ?.
