The first three pubs you mention are all nice, I have a slight leaning towards the Bagshawe as that used to be my local. The other names I don't recognise unless the John o Gaunt? has changed it's name, that was a big pub on Blackstock road that had a red tiled floor so the blood was easier to clean up.

At least you're staying on the better side of the valley [pub wise] you could be going to the Wyvern, [rather you than me]

Hang on I've just remembered the Cutlers, it's another pub in a similar style to the Bagshawe or Nailmakers.

cheers wallbuilder, the cutlers is on norton avenue near the dual carriageway and the heeley is down near townend.

Haven't been in john o gaunt yet, the closest we've got iss the ones tonight or the blackstock.

i think we'll be doing the rest of the valley in one go soon, probably

far lees, horse and groom, far lees, wyvern, john o'gaunt, byards leap and punch bowl at manor in one go

That pub at Gleadless Townend is called the Heeley? I could of sworn it was the Red lion, there again I am going back ten years or so, it used to be quite poular with the under age drinkers.Don't forget though if you're down that way there's the Doubletop on the estate, not to mention the Phoenix and I think the Old Harrow.

Wyvern bad.... Far Lee's very bad, I've been in both of them in years past but only when escorted by one of the residents from the area, apparently it's safer that way.

Well we actually went in

New Inn

Nailmakers

John o Gaunt

Bagshawe

Cutlers

Heeley and Sheffield

Quite a good night really. Didn't feel threatened in any of them.

Thats nearly all of south east sheffield done just a couple at the valley and jordanthorpe and we've completed a quarter of the map.

Best pub of the night was the Bagshawe though unfortunately we missed the handpulled stones.

Been thinking about the pubs over there and remembered that there is one in the bottom of the valley on Blackstock road by the entrance to the tip, the horse and.....something?

The Bagshawe was always my favorite as I could park my car in the bus layby on the other side of the road and then drive home down across the park on the private driveway/road even if i was slightly and I do mean slightly over the limit.

Don't forget the Blackstock by the shops, I used to go in there sometimes with a lass who lived just off Gleadless Hill and often got the uncomfortable feeling that I was being watched, maybe it was just that the lass in question was and is drop dead gorgeous, what she saw in me I'll never know.
