My Dad is Les Cambell and Neil was my fantastic Uncle who died a couple of years ago.

I was a good friend of your dad, ask him if he remembers getting caught for drinking under age with me in the Nailmakers. I was at school with Gordon but have not seen any of them for years. I remember your grandparents Charlie and if memory serves me right Dolly , nice people who enjoyed following certain acts around clubland. Good times.I could spend hours telling you stories of our adventures as kids.

Classmates, school mates and fellow pupils, it’s your lucky day.

All good things comes slowly in life.

Patience goes seldom unrewarded.

You have been very patient so here is your reward.

Hi Everybody,

It's interesting to read all the posts about Hurlfield School for Boys. I was at Hurlfield between 1963-68. There is a substantial amount of information about the school, students, teachers, incidents etc on Sheffieldhistories.com/Hurlfield School for Boys.

I'm trying to find out about the Michael Swan incident. Michael Swan (Swanny) blew himself up in the Science Prep Room in a think May 1966? Mr Peter Jennings was the Science Teacher at the time but the incident wasn't his fault. The incident made the local Press; Sheffield Telegraph and Star, local BBC/ITV News and the National Media. Swanny had to have major skin drafts and was off school for ages.

I've trawled the Internet but can't find anything about the incident. Has anybody out there got any news/information about what happened? Does Michael Swan still live in Sheffield?

Cheers.

Wazzie Worrall
