Chippy near Wybourne school

anyone remember the chippie near wybourne school

giving fish and chips away at pre war prices just before they retired but you had to pay with old money it was just after decimalisation everything as gone up since then

the only thing i can remember that has'nt gone up with inflation is the guinea pig :hihi:

Yes it was harry's chippie top of Whites lane on the end of manor Oaks road.

Luckily I had some old coins and got fish and chips for tupence.

 

The only thing that not gone up with inflation is the tyre

I had to blow up .

does anybody remember the old shops on cricket inn rd in the late 60s ? the first shop was a chippie run by an old man ,then it was ithink , a grocers called thickets, then a newsagents , then a greengrocers , then another grocers called kadishes , then lastly a butchers,think this was run by 2 brothers ,one was called peter .
