islandman
Broomhill Friery - not only very high quality, but reasonably priced and has friendly staff (especially Tony). Admiral in Crookes - quality high (but not as good as Broomhill Friery), but prices a bit on the extravagant side.

oxymoron
I know it's not a chippy. But has anyone tried Mash House on Division St? Claims to do traditional English grubs. Looks well posh from outside (through the tiny entrance) and menu looks bit pricy.
dissonance
haha. i went to the devonshire chippy before and they poured GRAVY over everything instead of CURRY. as this seems to be a recurring event, i must say that it's lowered my opinion of them! although i guess curry sauce can look a bit similar to gravy... maybe. Musicman1998
Two Steps on Sharrow Vale road is the best I've found, and it just happens to be sheffield's oldest chippy too. gotta agree. very very tasty. bit pricey mind, but its worth it.
owlsinvegas
I was a young lad in Sheffield and went to Queenies as well as the shop at the top of the street off Molineaux Rd. I would love a recipe for good fish cakes as well as a pork pie if someone has one cheers up the Owls Steve Ibbertson
DancingDave
Woodseats Fisheries have the BEST fish & chips, and the best value, 2.95 for fish chips and peas. I often see people in there I know, who live far away, but they tell me its worth the trip !
Johnh
Best I reckon are Tony's at Mosboro' ... worse. that horrible greek sh*te from the Admiral's.
fozzie81
i have just come back from cornwall and went to Rick Steins resturant in padstow and to be honest having paid £8.00 for fish and chips i was expecting to be bowled over BUT they were over-rated and i would rather have fish and chips from Norwood fish Bar on Herries Road.
