funfamily
Broomhill Friery again, cod and chips are less than £3 - we drive there from Hillsborough. (FYI - is in Broomhill ;-) opposite the Northern Sole - who serve radioactively orange fish ) Used to love the Bole Hill Chip Shop but it got took over about a year ago and went downhill - and the fish from the Crookes Admiral is grim. One on Holme Lane opposite Tramways is good, when they have cod in - bit hit and miss. Devonshire chippy serves great chips, never tried anything else from there though. czechmate
I havent read all the posts but.... Bolehill chippie just to be y local and has remained consistantley good for a long long time. Then my local changed to Two Steps (sharrowvale road) especially their home made pies. Now I go to Man Fridays on Shoreham street, just behind Sheff Utd's Kop. If you havent tried them before, just give them a shot. I'll bet you will go back again, especially the fish. Huge fish and almost completely free of bones. They also do other types of home made food and their chicken curry is fantastic, chilli is good too, including the vegi chilli. They even do scallops, how many chippies can you name that do scallops? I think its run by a greek couple and they are always friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable to good especially when you consider portion size. Also worth a mention is the new chippie right at the end of Abbey Lane neare the spar shop, forgotten its name but they do a very tasty chicken kebab with chips. Some one even takes the fishcakes home to cornwall with them when they visit thier rels.
algenon
Moon Maiden Get round to the Supper Spot at Malin bridge at the bottom of Loxley Road! I can speak from experience, as I've tried plenty and this one is consistantly excellent. (I last had some for my tea last night!) i didn't mean this chippy as i have heard some dodgey reports. acetrueman
The Phoenix at Woodseats is good food but the size of the portions are massive, twice the size of portions elsewhere on Woodseats
muddycoffee
The Phoenix at Woodseats is good food but the size of the portions are massive, twice the size of portions elsewhere on Woodseats Well you obviously haven't tried the new place on Abbey Lane "Posidon". There portions are bigger. I had the misfortune to go to Phoenix twice in december after the pub and both times the chips were stone cold when I got them home
