Greybeard
It's only been two years and nearly 1 in 4 of working age choose benefits. Only been two years since what ? Once Cameron and Clegg have put the public sector through the bacon slicer there will be hundreds of thousands more on benefits and not by choice. Mecky
Benefits or not, it's very difficult for a person live on their own since the cost of living is calculated on estimated household income; the government assumes more than one person lives in a single house. The only thing I can think of is that they get a 25% reduction in their council tax. What are they supposed to do, send out half a person to earn a wage? Sure a single person may save on some fuel but the saving is very small since it costs the same amount for one person to sit under a light or run a TV as it does four people.
