kenfozzy
Are there any old Boys and Girls (ATC and WJAC) from 1958 to the late 60's still remember the good times at RAF Norton (Norwood Rd - WJAC's) and then at Middlewood Rd.
caronlel
I know it's a little later than you mention but I was there in the 80's on Middlewood Road. If I recall we were the first girls to be allowed into the ATC, before that it had to be the GVC or nothing! This new found equality meant we got to wear the same uniforms as the lads which to be fair were not exactly figure-flattering and put paid to a lot of the male attention - BOOOOO! CaptChris
Member at Norton in 1963. I only remember Cadet Sgt Steele and adult WO Bottomley (affectionately known as drag-arse). I met the latter about 1990 when he was Squadron Leader with the cadets. First camp at RAF St Mawgan - one evening went into St Ives, got back to camp several hours late to find an officer reception party at main gate. That cost me my flight in a Shackleton the next day.
