did anyone go to the sheffield docfest party hosted by lost vagueness at the plug on saturday? just wondering what you thought of it. i had a delegates pass to get in but wanted to be fresh for the next day as i had a lot of docs to see (sad, but true) so i opted out and went home to bed early. im sure i missed a blinder though, please fill me in on what i missed!

btw if anyone found or knows of anyone that found a purple/mauve chenille hat, shaped with a largeish trilbyish crown and a medium brim, i'd be really grateful if you pmed me because a friend of mine lost it there and would dearly love to get it back!

deleagates pass got you unlimited free wine - the night was top quality better than last year

Personally I thought the complete opposite, and so did everyone else who was with me. By the time we got in there (midnight) it seemed like pretty much all the performances had been on, as all we saw on stage was one act consisting of a duo performing with some kind of puppet - if that sounds vague it's becasue I wandered off after about 30 seconds due to boredom. I don't recall seeing anything else on after that, and the whole thing was being packed up by 2 o'clock when there was still an hour to go before closing.

It didn't seem to be anywhere near as busy as last year either, a lot less general public and mostly p**sed up delegates from the docfest taking advantage of the free wine. Understandable seeing as it was the afterparty for that event but still would've expected a few more "non-doc" folk.

On the plus side I thought the way they decked out plug was quite impressive (especially the casino area), and costume hire was a good idea as there certainly seemed to be more people making an effort to dress up for the occasion.

Maybe it was different last year because I didn't know what to expect, but even people who I'd persuaded to come along this year who missed out last time were asking me "Is that it?" by the end of the night...
