Exchange Bar & Grill (Hanrahans) Lights on inside & out but boarded up.

How odd. Popped in for a quick pint and it was like the Mary Celeste. All the lights were on inside and outside, the beer pumps were lit up, the lights were on upstairs... but all the doors and windows were boarded up with security mesh.

 

Looks like the bailiffs have been round. (I'm not saying they have, it just looks like it)

Not surprised, they put their prices up in the summer, nearly £10 for a burger!

It closed it's doors last night, all the staff have been made redundant, nice timing (not) I was there today and quite a few of the staff were very upset, they were told on Monday...

 

Work will start in January for it to be another restaurant.

They were sending out brochures advertising for Christmas lunches etc. for businesses too - we almost booked our works do there! Thankfully, we decided to go elsewhere but we could so easily have been left high and dry so I'm glad we did!

Has to be said though, that it is not the fault of the manager or the staff who work there, they were only told on Monday.

Sorry to hear about this, especially after they had just employed you Bruno to increase things there. maybe it wouldnt have gone so soon if they had bothered advertising that you were on.

 

 

but on the up side, all parties have been passed over to The Rutland Hotel just up the road, so no need to worry if you booked a party at the Exchange it will still be happening.
