Poem: 'Long live the new god!'

A cosmopolitan migraine,

engines choke my head,

i cough blackened fumes,

eyes are blinded by the flash's beaming off grey's and browns,

where are the birds?

the singing has departed,

the grass is blurry compared to the curb,

leaves replaced by chimneys,

trees by man made prisons,

where has nature gone?

Shunned into exile to be the borders for the concrete gods,

the singing is still there...

faint..

haunting...

what have we done?

Well all poetry is personal to the writer, and it appeals to certain readers at certain times, it will never appeal to everyone all of the time by its very nature.

But I think that your poem is good, as do others obviously, why don't you post some more then people will have a better idea of your work.

Also there does not seem to be so many posters in this group as some of the others, though I may be wrong (please don't beat me writers group :hihi:), don't get disheartened :)

Post more poems.....mmmmmm this one was the 'city depression', all we ever see is greys and browns, the odd tree being massacred by the council chainsaws doesnt really count to me when i daydream of basic living,to be the way we was meant to be before all these concrete cattle pens came.

Prolly got too much time on my hands :D
