Green Web
e're thinking of getting a cheap flight to Dublin as it's a place we've always wanted to visit and just seen a flight from Manchester for only £20!! Just done a quick search on net but can't find anything conclusive but it does have it's government so do you need a passport?

Siân
Should'nt do as we are all part of the EU and therefore passports are'nt required fore Eire from UK. You still need an alternative form of ID even if travelling within the EU - passport is often the easiest.
heavenlyarts
Photo ID is sufficient, ie driving license.
cgksheff
UK citizens don't need a passport to enter Ireland (yet).... BUT .... The airline will require Photo ID and often a passport is the only acceptable.
CHAIRBOY
No, as thing stand, you don't need a passport but things are about to change in the future. You will need some I.D. so you'd best check what documentation is acceptable to the carrier. Look on the Aer Lingus site to see what they accept - one such item is a work pass with photograph. Mathom
No, you don't. But you need photo ID to fly, e.g. photo driving licence and some airlines can be funny over this as Ryanair was with my mother so she ended up getting one anyway to save hassle.
