Has anyone successfully sued the NHS?

Recommended Posts

i cannot really discuss that, but all i can say is that some specialists dropped a big clanger.

its not how i had the accident, but what was done after the accident, the treatment was not competent. its like treating you for a tumour of the brain but removing your lung instead.

when you end up in pain clinic, let me know, i'll confirm that they have written you off....

hi,

maybe sueing them will improve the NHS, i would say not, but it's not all about the money, i don't want anyone else to have to go through what i went through. we put our trust in them, and they bodge a patients life.

some lives are damaged forever, i think these pople deserve some compensation.

If you don't think suing the NHS will improve the NHS then why are you doing it, after all, you say it's not all about the money. Did they really bodge your life? How?

It is relevant how you hurt your knee, it could have been entirely your fault. Come to think of it, if it wasn't your fault, why aren't you suing the person who caused the injury.

Let's look at it this way, my house caught fire, it doesn't matter how but my house caught fire. I called 999 and the fire service came to my aid, whilst rescuing me they broke the door down even though the lock could have been picked. Should I sue them for damaging my door?

Can you explain why people who work all there life and pay taxes have to pay you for what sounds like nothing more than bad luck, you haven't told us how you hurt your knee yet?

It doesn't sound like anything - we don't know the facts of the case and if we did we wouldn't have the medical knowledge (let alone the right) to make a decision. That's why Gillybob wants to take this further to people who can make this decision.

It maybe something that everyone apart from Gillybob would feel was just 'one of those things' or it maybe we'd agree with her if we knew the facts. Either way we're not going to find out on here. It doesn't take away her right to take this further nor to ask if anyone else has already been through this complex process.

well, i now owe thousands for the bodge they made, so if i get that back, i will be happy, and an appology that all along i was right.

i can't repair the trauma caused, nor forget it, but i can move on and use any money left to make my future life better, as when i am older i am now going to have to face further problems, due to their bodge.

did you know, you are more likely to die from a knee op than from a heart op. the risk of infection is far greater.

Didn't say it did take her right to take this further, neither does it take away my right to question it.

Like you say, we don't know the full extent of what happened and whilst we don't know what happened, consider me to be on the side of the NHS.

Did the NHS at any point offer you further treatment to correct the problem?

Again you keep saying their bodge, who caused your bad knee?

You still haven't answered my Fire question.

You see, I have had a few dealings with the NHS and I think they're great, if I can try and save the NHS money I will, I also know that anything to do with my body is my health, not theirs. I therefore find it easier to work with medical professionals not sue them at the first slip up.

The OP hasn't asked for help playing devil's advocate - she's asked if anyone else has been through the same process. It's all in the title :)
