Hopman
I recall seeing one Christmas song first line represented as "Chestnuts roosting on an open fire" which has nothing to do with the folowing account of a Christmas Day with the Foxes. Christmas day with the foxes. Nor can I claim that it's inspired by a demotivator picture. Anyway, see what you think...
sauerkraut
Oh dear, poor Hopman, I hope that isn't how you really have to spend your Christmases! Your piece certainly raised a smile: there were plenty of funny jokes and witticisms in there. I especially liked the "hole boring business" quip. I do wonder if it needs a bit more work to fit together more coherently, though, and to finish with a bit more of a punch, rather than you simply finding it's time to go home. One slight incongruity: why the reference to drink driving if he knows he won't get anything alcoholic to drink? It was entertaining stuff, though, and now I'm off to google Fibonacci... Malanimal
Very good! Made me chuckle, especially: "Tom had sharpened the carving knife and proceeded to blunt it on Sue’s gravy" Liked that a lot, mind you, at least you got gravy...
