Basalt
hi i used to live in the house in front of the church on high street i think it was 52 high street .I lived next door to a family called singletons they had a lorry business,i can only remember bits cos i was only six when i moved away.i remember going to the infant school on high street around 1975 and being in a class with a teacher called mrs green.i remember having a friend named sheryl. What i remember of the church is going to the brownies and the minister of the church having two red setter dogs.I remember the little path my mum and dad took us down to take us to the park The Church is now the EPPiC Theatre. It was converted by Ecclesfield Priory Players in the 1980's. The homepage of their site shows the church building and the Sunday Schoolroom on the back of your old house. http://www.eppictheatre.co.uk

Blackbeard
Arthur Croft lived in Knowle Road, later moving to a flat in High Street (side of the old Police Station). I remember George Evans and his wife from St Michael's Road. I knew their daughter Margaret. The ?????Salt was Albert Salt. Sad news It looks like Albert died in a road accident at the junction of Ecclesfield Road and Park Avenue today http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_yorkshire/7927046.stm
