pensionipper
Banks in Crisis When I really needed money I went to the bank for a loan, but they would not oblige because I had no money. If I HAD had money I would not have troubled them in the first place. When I wanted a mortgage I could have had one right away, but felt I couldn't afford the repayments on my small, steady wage. I could then have packed the job in and started for a construction company and trebled my wage. Problem? They would not grant a mortgage as it was not considered a steady job. When I heard the banks were in trouble and could not or would not get loans from other banks, the tears rolled down my face. These were tears of laughter because now, at last, THEY know how it feels. Plain Talker
There's an old saying about banks, which a friend of mine uses (I think JoeP has used it, too, on here, as well) "A bank is an intitution which lends you an umbrella, and then asks for it back when it rains!" DUFFEMS
I was told that, because I don't owe anyone anything and have no mortgage, I wouldn't have a good "credit rating" because I don't have credit, I don't have credit because I don't anyone anything...............
