Guest
The Secrets of Pain, Phil Rickman's brand new one, fresh from the Waterstone's bag. I didn't think it was out until September, so I'm very pleased indeed to have a copy now. Edited September 1, 2011 by Guest

Cyclone
Loved Locke Lamorra - the second one "Red Seas Over Red Skies" is good too - maybe not quite as good as the first. Well into RSORS now, and I've got the new GR Martin and a few others lined up for when that's done.
The Mush
Well into RSORS now, and I've got the new GR Martin and a few others lined up for when that's done. Jealous - i'm waiting for the paperback to come out for GRR Martin - not paying full whack hard back prices....!

You can pick up the hardback for paperback prices. To be honest though I wish I'd waited, the hardback is massive! It should come with it's own bookstand. focemal
Cromwell: Our Chief of Men by Antonia Fraser. A long and in depth biography of the Lord Protector. At times heavy going and quite academic but with fascinating insights into all aspects of the turbulent times before and after the civil war. rainbow2411
The story is so fragmented, it is difficult to care what happens next but I am not far into the book so hopefully it will becoming more engaging. This book is the most boring book that I can remember reading or rather not reading, I have decided that life is too short to spend any more of it on this over hyped nothingness, so it is now unfinished and in my charity give away pile. Can anyone tell me is this a good example of Le Carre or should I try his earlier work?
