Manlinose
currently reading Oliver Twist by Dickens - made a mistake as i thought i was buying David Copperfield which i've always wanted to read but never have, whereas i've never wanted to read Oliver Twist - think i've been put off it by that horrible musical but, it's not too bad. more easy reading than some of his novels
gettingon
nicholas crane - two degrees west (an english journey) a different way to tour the country from berwick-upon-tweed by the north sea to the isle of purbeck on the english channel...down two degrees west (within a 2000metre band). richard crane and nicholas crane - bicycles up kilimanjaro ...all along i'm thinking "how absurd is this?" yet i continued reading to the very end. an interesting account of carrying/riding bicycles up the 20,000 foot mt kilimanjaro. did they realize their hope of riding their bikes inside the crater at the top? ---------- Post added 22-02-2013 at 00:28 ---------- currently reading Oliver Twist by Dickens - made a mistake as i thought i was buying David Copperfield which i've always wanted to read but never have, whereas i've never wanted to read Oliver Twist - think i've been put off it by that horrible musical but, it's not too bad. more easy reading than some of his novels oliver twist is a good read. i agree about the musical - it absolutely irritated the hell out of me. hope you get to read copperfield...it's one of his "bigger" books but i found it also to be an easy read much like oliver. the only book of dickens i have yet to read is "barnaby rudge". it's sitting on the shelf just waiting for the day. rosieadamson
Fifty Shades Freed by E L James, contrary to what some people believe there is a story to this trilogy, Christian Grey is not all he seems to be, trust me.
Pixie824
Never Somewhere Else by Alex Gray. Pretty good read, didn't expect much to be honest. Picked up three of her books from a book club, paid 3 quid for the lot. Have been pleasantly surprised
taxman
Set in Darkness by Ian Rankin. Good to read whilst in Edinburgh with all the familiar landmarks and pubs.
Funky_Gibbon
1356 by Bernard Cornwell. Historical novel set during the Hundred Years War revolving around an archer called Thomas Hookton. Pretty standard as Bernard Cornwell's post-Sharpe novels go but enjoyable all the same.
FatDave
Vernon God Little - DBC Pierre Just finished it actually. I'm usually sceptial about 1st person present tense novels but this one is a work of genius. Like Catcher In The Rye but with a school massacre thrown in.
