bluecanary
I have just finished "Random Acts of Heroic Love" by Danny Scheinmann. Am I alone in completely missing what all the hype, including Richard and Judy endorsements etc was all about?
taxman
Just started 'The Steep Approach to Garbadale' last night, seems pretty good so far, typically lush Iain Banks prose style. I've got 'Matter' to read after as well! I'm doing it the other way round. Over halfway through Matter now and its brilliant

taxman
I'm doing it the other way round. Over halfway through Matter now and its brilliant Finished it now....absolutely brilliant, if a bit sudden in its ending. The story isn't as involved or complex as Use of Weapons, Player of Games or Excession but the writing, the language and the sense of being there makes it a pleasure to read every word. I have a stack load of new books to read but I'm tempted to revisit one of his old ones. Definitely my favourite author and the one whose new books I look forward to with a passion.
