The "I am currently reading" thread

I've just finished reading (about 4 minutes ago) Lords Of The North by Bernard Cornwell. It's the third book in his series about the Saxons fight against the Danish invasion in the 9th Century. It's been a pretty good series so far although I prefer his Sharpe novels as he's able to put more historical detail into them.

Next up is going to be Because The Night by James Ellroy since it's about the only JE book I haven't read yet.

If you've not already read them, can i recommend to you Cornwell's Arthurian Trilogy - The Winter King, Enemy of God and Excalibur. They are amongst my favorite Arthurian novels ever!

I read them a few years ago. I thought that apart from that series he did that started with Vagabond (set during the reign of Henry IV) they were the weakest of his novels. Still pretty good but not something I'd want to read again unlike most of BC's work.

Just finished 'Matter' this morning, utterly brilliant, Banks at his best!

Quandary now, I have three books to read, and can't decide which to go at first. 'The Gum Theif' by Douglas Coupland, 'A Spot of Bother' by Mark Haddon or 'Wintersmith' by Terry Pratchett. Decisions, decisions...
