Misco
I'm reading How to Stop Smoking Permanently - Allen Carr. 11 days since my last ciggie too!!!!! I read this a while ago - great book (unfortunatley didn't completely break the habit though)
nic_scarlet
I finished that a couple of weeks ago, its really really good! My housemate recommended it to me. Apparently they're making a graphic novel of it. I'm not a comic reader but this does sound interesting.

Plain Talker
I wasn't at all keen on the Flowers in the attic series, (didn't like much of Virginia Andrews' work, saying that) like most of her work, it focussed too much on the incest thing. taxman
I'm still reading Star of the Sea by Joseph O'Connor. I'm really enjoying it but I'm just finding myself with a lot less reading time than usual at the moment, which is a shame because I feel I'm not doing the book justice
Funky_Gibbon
Just about to finish The Prefect by Alaistar Reynolds. Excellent book, his best since Chasm City.
Jessica23
I've decided to keep a list of things I'm reading for pleasure this year, just for fun. So far in 2009: Will Self's The Butt (not overly impressed) Cormac McCarthy's The Road (bleak but recommended) Lionel Shriver's We Need to Talk about Kevin (brilliant, highly recommended) Michel Faber's The Crimson Petal and the White (840 odd pages of not very good neo-Victoriana. Compared favourably on the cover to A.S. Byatt's Posession - made me choke on my tea. Over-rated) Anne Enright's The Gathering (well-written, pretty good - not sure it deserved the Booker though). Next up, I'm going to tackle Graham Greene.
