Looking to do a pub crawl on the real ale circuit in town tonight, but seeking some more out of the way and off the beaten track houses....anyone recommend some, must be in City Centre, maybe down a back street, some dark and dingy half forgotten establishments.......trying to steer clear of the main ones tonight and discover some lost treasures........

The Bath Hotel just off West Street is in the Real Ale guide - he usually has guest beers on, and the Devonshire Cat has guest beers too. Fat Cat at Kelham Island is a good one too

And once you're in the vicinity of the Bath Hotel, you're only a stone's throw from the Red Deer on Pitt Street (a side road off the other side of West Street) which, as it's off the main drag, doesn't get quite as busy as the West Street ones.

You can then cut down Portobello Street and along Trippet Lane to the Dog & Partridge for a decent pint of Abbeydale Brimstone, then down Bailey Street to Fagans' (the other Irish pub) for Abbeydale Moonshine.

Finish off by heading for the wonderfully-shaped Three Tuns, arriving back at the Dove & Rainbow in time for last orders!

Hmm....quite tempted to come with you now......;)

OR
