Longcol Posted January 13, 2008 Share Posted January 13, 2008 I'll go have a look sometime this week. The name "Lodge" used to have a number of functions as far as I can tell. Sometimes they were houses were you could put up guests - hence "lodge" - some appear to be "gatehouses" to control entry to the estate - sometimes "servants quarters" - and quite often a mixture of all of these.
