Right just incase you don't know the sheffield picture library is now backup and running at http://www.picturesheffield.co.uk/database_search.php looks like they have lost the .com and used .co.uk instead.

Flippin eck...I just looked at the photo of Norman Street going towards Maltby St school. I lived on Newhall Road and walked down there to school every day......where's the houses where's the coal yard and where's the Methodist Church.....:suspect: oh dear ,is it THAT long ago......

Hi there

Does any one out there know of a street called Thurley street of terry street

There's a Thurley Place on the 1905 OS map. It was a short cul-de-sac off Belmoor Road (off Attercliffe Common) with its closed end against the boundary of Carbrook Park. It will have been where Don Valley Bowl is now

Terry Street was very close, also a cul-de-sac ending at the park boundary, but this time directly from Attercliffe Common.

Actually Terry Street is still there, no longer a cul-de-sac, extended as an access road that passes Ice Sheffield to reach the Arena.

Hugh
